El Coco Loco Resort – Nicaragua

El Coco Loco is a hidden tropical paradise located on the Northern Pacific coast of Nicaragua, which features comfortable rustic cabanas, eco-friendly composting toilets, a deliciously healthy restaurant and bar, elevated ocean view yoga studio, swimming pool, soccer field, volleyball court, ping-pong table, and relaxing hammocks, all over-looking two really fun beginner-intermediate friendly surf spots with other great surf options nearby.

Coco Loco is also very active in the community with a project called Waves of Hope that is focused on community development programs including providing English classes, after-school programs, and environmental awareness to the local village.

There is a gorgeous elevated ocean-view yoga studio perfect for stretching out between surf sessions and inspiring your practice.

There are several great surf spots within walking distance including a rocky left point and a user-friendly sandy bay with lefts and rights perfect for learning to stand up for the first time or perfecting your cutback.

Here’s a quick video of Holly longboarding at the bay.

After surfing and yoga…. we’ll take a horseback ride on the beach, play a game of volleyball, dip in the pool, relax in the hammock with a book, or toast new friends with a cold cerveza!

  1. Hi there, I am looking to go on a 10 days holiday with a surf/yoga activities. I cannot surf but I really want to learn.

Are there still places available for 29 Jan surf camp? Will it be ok that fact that I am 32 years old?

    Looking forward to your response.

    best wishes,

    ivana

  2. Hey Holly, I saw the hhi episode and I am hooked. My son Tripp is 8 and has been surfing since he turned 5. He Is awesome. The waves in Myrtle Beach, Sc leave A whole lot to the imagination. we have about 10 good days a year. On my days off we try to go but it just a shot in the dark if there will be any swell at all. Would love some more info about your camp, my wife is so not interested but so what, my son would love it! And my self also, I am getting better but when my son looks at me and says- dad you suck. which means I -WE need a better wave. I also have 2 more boys and a baby girl. last summer My 4 year old son Tommy rode on the front of a 9 foot bic longboard while his big brother Tripp carved up and down the wave. That was one of the best days of my life. Thats what he said also, they are both hooked. Thanks hope to hear from you soon-stay earthy. ThanksKeith Father of four and a husband of my beautiful bride Krysta.
