Amigas Team Froth Session

What do you do for vacation when you already live in paradise? We had one week off in between retreats and since we were driving North from our Magnific Rock retreat and passing right by Rise Up Surf Tours (an awesome surf camp owned by a friend), we stopped in for a couple of days. It didn’t hurt that there was a big swell running and the perfect tide situation for one of my favorite waves in the country. I was super excited to show it to my friends and give the team a few days of surfing and relaxation before heading back to work. Good times!

Sunny Morning Surf in the Philippines

Super cute waves, gorgeous water, sunny mornings. Life is good in the Philippines for our first of two women’s surf and yoga retreats. We wake up, get on a boat, paddle out to empty waves, duck dive in super clear water, and cheer for new friends. So sweet!

Galloping on the Beach

If you’ve been to one of our Northern Nicaragua retreats then you know, galloping on the beach is one of the best feelings in the world. People are often nervous about it. We get plenty of ladies who haven’t been on a horse since they were a kid, or even never. They’re nervous about being able to control such a big powerful animal. But the horses we use are super well trained. They know the beach, they know the drill, and they love to gallop. All you have to do is believe in yourself and hold on for the ride of your life. Here’s what it looks like. If you want to feel it for yourself, you’ve just gotta come down!

Meet Nadia – Instructor for June/July Retreats

Nadia is a very excited, trippy, hippy, funky, frothy, shredder. She grew up bouncing between San Diego and Hawaii, so she’s pretty good on her surfboard. She likes cold beer, reggae music, and galloping on horseback down the beach. She has a big soft spot for skinny Nicaraguan dogs.

Basically, she’s a lot of fun to hang out with. If you come on a retreat in June or July 2013, you’ll see what I mean!

In Between Surf Sessions

We are not alcoholics! But we do like to have a good time and indulge in the fine beverages available. Nicaragua is world famous for it’s Flor de Cana rum and we think it is delicious. In between surf sessions we get up to all kinds of craziness and fun. We laugh, talk about life, dreams, goals, and create friendships that will last long past the week-long adventure.

Believe in yourself and anything is possible!

Amigas Get Silly in Small Waves

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F39nntnkkJo]
Part of surfing is knowing that the waves will not always be overhead and perfect. Sometimes it’s small. Sometimes it’s windy. Sometimes it’s crowded. If you’ve got a longer board and a silly attitude, none of that matters and you’ll always have a good time.
Our first few days in El Salvador this week have been a little bit on the smaller side. There’s a good swell coming in a few days, but we passed the time waiting by getting super silly with friends, and doing yoga!
