El Salvador is probably the most challenging location that Surf With Amigas frequents. Sunzal is a swell magnet so any bit of swell produces well overhead waves. This week we had solid swell the entire time and the Amigas had to overcome fear to rise to the challenge.
This morning we start day 1 of our season of retreats in Nicaragua, but here’s another look at last month’s trip to El Salvador. We’ll be heading back to El Sal again next year, so if you aren’t already, email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) to be added to our mailing list if you want to join in!
This is what a Surf With Amigas women’s surf and yoga retreat looks like in El Salvador. We surf, hang out, and play in gorgeous waterfalls. So fun!
We are so blessed to have Nikki Belcher as our yoga teacher at Surf With Amigas. She is gorgeous inside and out, has a calming, healing presence, and inspires a restorative practice. There was so much prana/energy at the waterfall in the cloud forest that Nikki decided to do a little free flow sequence.
Normally, we do retreats in Eastern El Salvador at a spot called Las Flores. This time, we followed a tip to a location in Western El Sal that turned out to be a lot less crowded and super interesting. We dubbed it an adventure and exploration retreat, and that it was!
We were pretty bummed when we saw the forecasted big swell since the spot we were staying liked smaller swells, until we heard a rumor about a secret left that could handle big swells. It turned out to be amazing!
After surfing, we cruised up to the cloud forest and showered in a waterfall. Check it out!
We’re headed back to this part of El Salvador in October. Email email@example.com for more info!
