Chelsea Denning joined us in the Philippines for her second trip with Surf With Amigas. She’s super cute, fun to hang out with, and always the first one up in the morning ready to go surfing! After the trip she sent us this great thank you note with a link to the video she edited from the clips collected on the trip.
I wanted to thank you for another AMAZING retreat! I had an awesome time and thought the Philippines location was just perfect! I appreciate that you always make sure we have a great time and in addition to the fun surf making it a full adventure trip.
My husband says every time I come back he can see a noticeable improvement in my surfing and especially my confidence in surfing. I really appreciate all your help in pushing me and guiding me to get better at surfing. I love surfing so much and realize that it only gets more fun the better you get so am looking forward to continuing to improve!

Shannon came on her first retreat with Surf With Amigas Surf Yoga Adventure Retreat in Feb of 2012 and learned to surf. She came back a year later, in Feb of 2013 and took her skills to the next level – catching her first green wave! She loved it and has vowed to try to come back again in 6 months! Here’s her testimonial.
“Grom” = A young surfer, usually under 15 years old, with ample excited energy who always wants to go surfing.

Dear Holly,
I really appreciate all the help you gave me when I was in Nicaragua. I had such a good time and my surfing progressed so much. After every video coaching session, I wrote down notes so I could keep working at home. Also, thank you for letting me ride your amazing Dwart. Dad contacted the guys at Rusty and we are looking into getting one, possibly with the exact same dimensions as yours! Not only did I have a fabulous time surfing with you guys, I also had such a great time bonding with everyone at the camp, especially Jackie, Nikki, and Jamrock. I had such a great time that I cried when we left El Coco Loco and when the plane took off from Managua. Y’all’s taking the time to hang with me was really special. Julia is an 8th grader at a Montessori school in South Carolina that requires each student to participate in a week-long internship program. Julia got to come down and spend a week surfing with Amigas, learning about waves, culture, giving back, and having a good time. She was shredding every single day and loved every minute of it!

Sophie is an awesome Amiga from the UK who works for Cooler Magazine and Oakley. Needless to say, she’s hip, stylish, and tons of fun to hang out with. Unfortunately, she lives in London and doesnt get to surf very often. In a week of surfing with amigas, she improved so much as you can see in this video. We can’t wait to have her come back and take it a few steps further!

Hayla is the youngest of five sisters of which Holly Beck is the oldest. She learned to surf at 7 years old, but got annoyed by too many wipeouts and quit. At 19 years old, she came to Nicaragua to Surf With Amigas and rediscovered her love of surfing.

Hilariousness! We called her Sloppy Joh since that’s part of her email address and she’s way too silly to be simply called Tiffany. She has the biggest smile, loudest laugh, and endless amounts of energy. She claims to not be a very athletic golfer, but seemed like a total natural athlete, who picked up surfing faster than anyone i’ve ever seen. On day 1 she was going straight in whitewash, by day 2 she was dropping in and turning, and by the last day she was pumping down the line. “Yeah, that just happened!”
