For those ladies who already know how to paddle into and ride down the line, we offer several advanced coaching sessions per year.
On these retreats the focus is breaking down higher level skills via classroom sessions and awesome surf sessions with our super talented coaches. This particular week featured guest instructor – 2x world longboard champ Jen Smith and super stylish longboard cruiser Macy Sivage.
Two time World Longboard Champ Jen Smith joined us on two retreats in early 2019 as a guest instructor. She inspired all the ladies with her super stylish nose riding and also technical surf knowledge. Here’s the highlight video from the week.
2XWorld Longboard Champ Jen Smith came down to Costa Rica to be head coach on a couple of advanced longboarding retreats. She leant her expertise and demonstrated immaculate style. Turns, glides, look backs and nose rides were going down every session. Here’s a quick little highlight from a morning session out front.
We are excited to host a retreat with Jen Smith appearing as guest instructor to inspire the longboarder ladies to longer slides with toes on the nose, cross-stepping, and timeless style.

Jen is awesome. She’s from San Diego, and a two-time winner of the World Longboard Championships, so she obviously knows how to surf. She’s also just a down-to-earth cool chick – a chef, passionate organic gardener, surf instructor and shop employee at her dad’s skate shop.
She’s excited to take a break from all that to come down to Nicaragua for a couple of weeks to help ladies improve their surfing and specifically their long boarding.

We aim to keep you entertained, inspired, and fired up to go on adventures. When I came across this rad video of a couple of friends of mine who journeyed up the coast, finding surf and adventure in cold water, I knew I had to share it. Even though I prefer the tropics, this video makes me almost want to put on a wetsuit, load up a van, and drive North! Enjoy!

Holly Beck, Kim Mayer, and Jen Smith are pro surfers who also love skateboarding. They are part of the Sector 9 girl’s team and went to Ecuador with skate and surfboards to surf with seals and hang out with marine iguanas. Check out part 1 of the adventure.
