All leggings come with the drawstring in the waistband, to keep them up in cute (and not so cute) waves.

Holly Tests Out the Body Glove Breathe Surf Leggings

I’ve been rocking Body Glove swimwear since I was 17. The company focuses on creating women’s swim, surf, and active wear that is super functional as well as super cute. For many years I was active in helping them design women’s wetsuits and bikinis that would be comfortable and stay on while surfing. Over the last few years, since I moved to Nicaragua full time, I’ve been a bit more out of the loop, so I was really excited to learn that Body Glove was launching a new line of women’s active wear called Breathe that included yoga pants and surf leggings. I got myself a couple pairs of the surf leggings and have been trying them out the last couple of days during a retreat. Not only are they really cute (see photos for evidence), they are also really comfortable. Yesterday I wore them from 5am to 5pm non-stop with two surf sessions, breakfast, lunch, and some beach coaching mixed in. I highly recommend them!

Surf Fashion – What’s the Deal with Surf Leggings?

What’s the deal with surf leggings, you ask? Well, quite a lot! We first noticed Amigas wearing their yoga pants in the surf to protect them from things like jellyfish, rashes from wax, and the sun. They looked cute but we’d never tried them. Recently when designing our new custom rashguard (see photo of Sam modeling the Surf With Amigas rashguard below) we decided to add some leggings to the line (see Jackie in the leggings). We tried them ourselves and became addicted! They’re functional, cute, and they just feel good to wear. Perfect for surf, yoga, dancing, or whatever you feel like doing. Surf With Amigas surf leggings are only available in the SWA Suitcase Boutique by coming on a retreat with us.

For Salty Gypsies Everywhere

Salt Gypsy is a website devoted to water women worldwide. The founder, Danny Clayton, works as a surf guide in the Maldives and started the site because of her passion for connecting like-minded surfer girls around the world. Salt Gypsy features a “talking story” section which showcases cool ocean ladies doing cool things, as well as fashion-forward surf designers “with emphasis placed on products created by other chicks who rip.” We have been stoked on this blog for a while now and are excited to announce that they now have an online store where you can shop for and purchase the cutest and most functional outfits in the line-up. I especially like their original idea-turned-product: surf leggings! Did I mention she rips? She rips.
