Amelia Stanley

Amelia Stanley is a New Jersey native whose love for the ocean began early, growing up in a beach-loving family. After asking her dad to teach her how to surf, he surprised her one summer evening by picking her up from work with surfboards in the back of his truck and pushed her into her first waves—a memory she’ll never forget. From then on, she was hooked. Amelia spent her summers teaching surf lessons at an all-girls surf camp on the Jersey Shore, sharing her passion for the ocean and helping young women build confidence in the water.

Her connection to the ocean led her to study marine biology in college, deepening her understanding of the ecosystems she grew up loving. After graduation, she moved to San Diego, where she surfed daily and found her independence. She then began traveling extensively—from Hawaii to Iceland, through Europe and Morocco, and across the warm waves of Mexico and Central America.

Professionally, Amelia has worked with an oyster farm, writing grants, supporting sustainability research, and contributing to oyster reef restoration projects that blend science with community engagement. Today, her creativity and career have evolved into marketing and web design, where she combines storytelling with an eye for design and strategy. Beyond surfing, Amelia’s passions include sewing—she’s known for making custom surfboard bags out of upcycled fabrics—as well as crafting jewelry, and learning to sail.
