Lizzy Beyer

surf instructor

Lizzy Beyer

Lizzy Beyer grew up on the East Coast of the United States, spending as much time in the ocean as possible—swimming, boogieboarding, and trying to surf. Her lifelong connection with the ocean has shaped both her personal and professional journey. She really fell in love with surfing in college while studying abroad in Cape Town, South Africa. After graduating, she decided to prioritize surfing and began spending extended periods in Puerto Rico, eventually moving there.

For the past nine years, Lizzy has built a life deeply connected to nature, using surfing as both a passion and a practice to strengthen her bond with the natural world. Lizzy holds master’s degrees in Environmental Studies and Public Administration. She is curious about exploring ways to create positive environmental change and live more harmoniously with Earth’s natural systems.

To Lizzy, surfing is more than just a sport—it’s a way to cultivate connection, resilience, and self-confidence. As a SWA instructor, Lizzy is excited to help others discover the joy, empowerment, and sense of community that surfing brings.
