This experience is for: Surfers who want to learn to stand up for the very first time or more advanced surfers who want to improve their skills at an easy-to-travel to location. Open to all surf levels and all board lengths.
THE HOTEL
Located just outside of the Las Baulas National Park, this retreat is held at a locally-owned hotel that feels like a quiet little hideaway. A 2-minute walk down a private trail through lush foliage takes you to a long stretch of sandy beach with fun waves right out front! The boutique hotel features cozy private and shared rooms with A/C and hot water. Lounge by the pool in between surf sessions or socialize with other travelers at the bistro cafe nearby. At this little slice of paradise you can connect with nature while still enjoying modern comforts.
THE SURF
We’ll surf all week at a long stretch of sand-bottom beach with waves for all skill levels. The waves right out front of the hotel are excellent for surfers who are newer to the sport or even trying for the first time. The long, rolling white water waves are plentiful and perfect for perfecting your popups, learning board control, and overall getting more comfortable in the ocean. This retreat is especially awesome for surfers who want to build more ocean awareness and start their surf journey with a strong foundation. Our knowledgable Surf Coaches will set new surfers up with all of the tools they need to become more confident in the ocean and on their surfboards. If you’re considering this as your very first surf trip, you’re in the right place! The location is only 1.5 hours from the international airport, so it’s an easier travel than our more remote retreat locations.
Experienced surfers looking for more of a challenge will surf a bit further down the beach or in the green waves right out front, depending on the conditions that week. We will always break up the group by ability level so everyone gets waves and coaching specific to their goals. If your home break is a beach break and you want to improve your beach break surf skills, this retreat provides the perfect opportunity to practice reading waves, maneuvering through the lineup, and popping up quickly to get down the line.

Northern Costa Rica Palm Beach Retreat Details
Price: starting at $2900 for a room for 2 with two queen beds. Private rooms are plentiful at $3300
What’s Included:
- Two way transportation from the Liberia Airport (provided you arrive and depart on the designated days/times)
- 7 nights accommodation in a private or shared room with air conditioning and ensuite bathroom.
- 4 deliciously healthy fresh meals per day (early morning cold breakfast, hot brunch, lunch, and dinner, plus dessert)

Getting There:
To book your flight, fly directly into Liberia International Airport (LIR) or into San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO), then connect to a domestic flight to Liberia. The resort is about 90 min from Liberia. Detailed information will be provided in the booking process.
