surf instructor
tatiana gonzales
Tatiana Gonzales was born and raised in a small, rural town in Northern Nicaragua, where the waves are epic, the culture runs deep, and the vibes are good. In 2015, before even knowing how to swim, she got on her first board and started learning how to surf (and swim) alongside the team at SWA. When the boys in town told her that the premiere wave in the area wasn’t a place for girls to surf, it gave her extra motivation to practice and to eventually become the first Nicaraguan woman to surf that wave.
Tatiana believes surfing is empowering, therapeutic, and just flat out fun! Her favorite feeling is running up the beach, board in hand, while the sun is rising and the waves are pumping. Tatiana hopes to share her passion for waves with the world and to inspire other women from her community to push the limits and to believe that they have what it takes to follow their dreams.
