The EXPERIENCE

Open to families with kids of all ages. These retreats are planned so that both adults and kids get to surf and play. We’ll have kid friendly snacks available all day. There are nannies on hand (for extra cost) to watch the little ones, and fun “camp counselor” style staff to do art, play games, act as lifeguards in the pool, and entertain the older kids outside of planned activities, and to allow parents to surf and participate in yoga. Depending on the age, kids are invited to surf as well. The surf sessions for kids are kept fun and playful, but real instruction happens for those kids that are into it and want to improve. Everything is based on the individual kid and their true desire to either surf or just play in the ocean.

The Hotel

Stay at the longest-running oceanfront hotel in the area, with direct access to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The hotel has been around a while and has some quirks, but the location is the best in the area. The charming beach town is easy to explore by foot, where you’ll find cute coffee shops and fresh coconut stands scattered about. Expect simple rooms with AC and ensuite bathrooms and a big turquoise pool too! Unlike most of our other locations, here we will be sharing the hotel with other guests during the week. The hotel’s pool and restaurant are open to the public which creates a lively atmosphere to meet other travelers and locals in the zone too! In the evening we’ll walk out to the beach to watch the most amazing sunsets!

The Surf

The surf out front is all sandy beach break and one of the most consistent surf spots in Costa Rica. There are great waves for surfers looking to stand up on a surfboard for the very first time, as well as those looking to take existing skills to the next level. We suggest first time surfers join us at this location due to the sandy easy waves for learning to stand up, but this spot is great for everyone including shredders! We will break up the group by ability level so everyone gets coaching specific to their goals.

Getting There:

To book your flight, fly directly into Liberia International Airport (LIR) or into San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO), then connect to a domestic flight to Liberia. The hotel is only an hour from Liberia. Detailed information will be provided in the booking process.
