“Esterilla” is the term used for the bamboo matting made from breaking open and flattening a column of bamboo. After it has been flattened it can be used for walls, floors, or anywhere else a flat piece of bamboo is needed. While in Ecuador we happened upon a couple of guys making esterilla for the walls of a church and checked out how they were doing it.
