I started surfing in Scotland (yes... Scotland!) when I moved there in my early 20s. I always wanted to surf and saw a little surfer figure on the map in my Rough Guide so went to the remote island of Tiree on a few days off from work. I talked my way into being shown the basics by one of the (not many) locals there.

I continued surfing in Scotland and in Europe for 9 years then moved to Nicaragua to work for a non profit focused on sustainable surf tourism where. I now have a home base in California and make most of my big life decisions around surf:).
